At the far edge of the conglomerate rock, rising steeply above the Kokra River, lies a viewing platform that meets the city walls. Its position is not coincidental, as it symbolises the southernmost defensive tower that once stood at this location before collapsing into the depths due to conglomerate erosion.
When you step onto this platform today and observe the flow of the river, the bustling traffic and factories, and the lofty peak of Mount Šmarjetna, you can mentally drift back into history.
