The Main Square is the pulsating heart of the old town center, surrounded by bourgeois houses boasting magnificent portals. Its current appearance is the result of the flourishing of bourgeois architecture in the 16th and 17th centuries, reaching the peak of its aesthetic expression at that time.
At the northern part of the square stands the town fountain, which is a reconstruction of the original fountain from 1837. It is located in the same spot as the first fountain, built in the 16th century.
