The biggest tourist attraction in Maribor is the oldest vine in the world, which stretches in the old town center and has been listed in the Guinness World Records since 2004.
The vine proudly grows in Lent, the oldest part of the city, winding around buildings that once formed part of the city walls. Its story is one of resilience and remarkable vitality, having endured Turkish sieges, numerous fires, an invasion of vine lice, and even the bombing of the city over its 450 year history.
