The Church of St. Jacob, built in 1471 on older foundations dating back at least two hundred years, is a true artistic treasure trove. It is adorned with reliefs of guild and altar patrons, while frescoes by Jernej of Loka from the 16th century spread across the ceiling. Among its treasures, the Renaissance altarpiece of St. Catherine made of black marble stands out, crafted in 1694, as well as the late 17th-century paintings of Christ on the Mount of Olives.
The interior of the church, altars, and chandeliers were renovated according to the plans of the architect Jože Plečnik.
