Your trip starts by getting off the bus at Bohinj lake bus stop. Here, you can enjoy Slovenia’s biggest natural lake with water temperature rising to 22°C in the summer. Visit the nearby church of St. John the Baptist, home to some of the oldest frescoes in Slovenia.

Continue your trip with a panoramic boat ride across the lake. Current departures start at 9:30 and follow each other every 40 minutes, until 18:10. The boat ride lasts for 25-30 minutes.

Enjoy the beautiful lake again from the other side. Then take a cable car ride up to Mt Vogel – 1535 m above the sea level. In summer, the cable car operates between 8 AM and 6 PM, departing every 30 minutes.

After returning to the valley and ending your trip you can return to Ljubljana from bus stop Vogel križišče/ crossroads.

How to get there?

Bus departures from Ljubljana Bus station start at 6 AM and follow every hour. Last return is at 8:40 PM during the week and 7:40 PM on weekends and holidays.

Please check exact departures in the timetable (LJUBLJANA AVTOBUSNA POSTAJA – Vogel križišče/ crossroads). When buying return tickets select Vogel križišče/ crossroads. You will get off at Bohinjsko jezero/ lake, take a boat across the lake and return from bus stop Vogel križišče/ crossroads.
