"Parenzana - Path of Health and Friendship" follows the route of the former narrow-gauge railway, which connected Trieste and Poreč, as well as towns in the interior of the Istrian Peninsula. It operated between 1902 and 1935 on over 123 km long track.
This path offers numerous opportunities for sports activities, bringing together walkers, runners, and cyclists. It passes through towns and villages, along the coast or through vineyards and olive groves.
All tunnels are still preserved, with one of the most famous being the 550-meter-long Valeta tunnel between Strunjan and Portorož.
